Biology and CultureEdit

While very little was known about the Tusken Raiders, also called the Sand People, and what they looked like underneath the wrappings and clothing that they binded themselves with it was rumored that they are near human in appearance. They seemed to have once been Humans that were to settle on the desert world only to have been changed over the rather long span of time before more people came. They on occasion had been thought to take surviving children with them after a raid on the outlining farms or caravans as well, much like the Mandalorians.

The Tusken Raiders believed that the world of Tatooine belonged to them and that all the others were trespassers upon their land. They would attack with no quarter those that they thought they could kill without taking to great of a loss in doing so. A nomadic people the Tuskans usually traveled in small tribes throughout the desert. They did not stay in one place for long and as such did not advance far in technology, remaining a primitive people all the while. Stories were very important to them and the scholar of each tribe, or clan, was to learn them all and be able to recite them with perfect clarity; to confuse even one word was to be put to death for heresy.

They were expressly forbidden from removing their wrappings expect for a few very rare occasions which varied from their coming of age ceremony, to their wedding, or even when they were alone in there tent with their mate. Each Tusken had their own Bantha mount from birth and developed a strong bond between them due to this. If the mount died then the rider would be left to wander the desert, for if the mount's spirit wanted him to ride he would find something willing, was their belief. Likewise there were stories of mounts running headlong off a cliff after the death of their rider, killing themselves over it. Many rituals were practiced by the Sand People though they were mainly violent and bloody things, their violent and aggressive tendencies brought into every aspect of their life.
